A garden centre dedicated to sustainability and service

At Pelican’s Landing G C, we believe gardens should not only thrive in the natural environment but enhance it, which means our plants are:

  • Grown with integrity by local plant wholesalers (where possible).

  • Sustainably sourced for our climate.

  • Non-invasive species that won’t take over.

  • Appropriate to our environment with a focus on natives, tropical fruit trees, bush tucker and a vast range of gorgeous exotics

  • Nurtured with love to ensure the best quality product is maintained.

  • Maintained with environmentally-friendly products, the highest quality fertilisers and locally-sourced predatory mites instead of chemical sprays.

  • Cared for by experienced staff with intimate knowledge of their needs.

What do we mean by sustainable sourcing and growing?

Sustainable growing is all about raising plants in similar conditions to those they thrive in, which gives them the best chance at a long and happy life.

When plants are mass-produced in climate-controlled greenhouses, they can get a big shock when they are taken home into the ‘real world’. For gardeners, this can mean plants might die off quickly or become sickly and fail to thrive.

Sustainable growers raise plants in ‘real life’ conditions. That’s why we’ve teamed up with like-minded growers on the mid-north coast of NSW, Northern NSW and Southern Qld to source plants compatible with a sub-tropical climate grown in conditions that are appropriate for them. So you can enjoy plants that will endure and thrive in your garden.

We always say that it’s the passion, integrity and attention to quality of wholesale growers that allow retailers to provide greenlife that endures. We delight in this ‘mutual exchange’ from which we all benefit and are grateful to be involved in an industry that gives back to the planet.

Can we help you choose the best plants for your garden or give you gardening advice?

Absolutely! Our team has, between us all,  decades of experience gardening in this environment.. bush, beach & beyond and we understand our soil, climate, native flora and fauna, and pests intimately. No question, problem or request is too big or small – we will do our best to be of assistance with your enquiry.

We love coming along for the ride as you create your dream green spaces – we’ve seen one pot plant transform into a radiant indoor jungle and bare earth bloom into luscious food farms. Our favourite thing is when you bring in photos to share with us!

Meet the owners – Lyndl & Jeff

We took over the garden centre in 2010, with a view of spreading the wonders of nature throughout our community and beyond.

Over the years we’ve built a team of experienced horticulturalists and plant aficionados who are passionate about creating beautiful, sustainable green spaces.

We take pleasure in guiding people in how to :

  • Replenish the earth and create beautiful, bountiful greenlife spaces by sustainable gardening.

  • Create havens for birds, bees, beneficial insects and critters.

  • Reclaim soil integrity by quality nutrient addition and mulching … It’s all about the soil!

  • Enrich health, vitality, mind and spirit by growing your food.

  • Create indoor garden oases/jungles that nurture mind, soul and general wellbeing.

Plants have a profound impact on our health, homes and the planet and we nurture ours with love and respect.

We believe the healing power of greenlife is profound!

And whilst the responsibility of so many little green lives is a big one, sharing this journey with you rewards us with nourishing conversations, interactions and joy each day.

It’s more than a job for us – it’s a mutual exchange between like-minded folk who love greenlife as much as we do!

Why the name Pelicans Landing?
We travelled around Australia for almost two years, paddling near and far in a two-man canoe and no matter where we went – even far flung desert gorges – pelicans were with us. And what did we see when we arrived in Nambucca to view the nursery? A flock of pelicans landing on the river! We took it as a sign, embraced the name and the rest is history!
